vda 2.0

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted, It's been very busy. Next week I will be overseas installing Sun Ray's that connect back to the states...Should be fun.

So while setting this environment, there are a couple of things that I've found that others might be running into.

When Upgrading VDA 1.0 with different patches, you need to make sure you Solaris/Linux patches match your Windows patches, otherwise you will get, "Agent can't communicate with Server errors"

Have you done any testing with USB peripherals and the XP presentation to the DTU.

Also, you should check out the VMware View integration. We have actually built our own Broker between ESX/View and SRSS

coydog, Yes I have done a TON of work with USB serial devices mapping back to XP on the DTU...Mostly printing.

What did you have in mind?

We do not have a specific requirement for any USB peripherals yet. But, would like to know how you were able to pass this along with the uttsc string.

But, the type of device would most likely be a barcode reader or signature pad.

We have done some significant work with Sun regarding the serial port in a FOG (failover group) setup. They actually built a new /opt/SUNWut/lib/utdevmgrd file based upon our work together. This will part of future release.

What I am looking at, is the potential of using a USB barcode reader or signature pad at the SunRay.

We have done extensive serial testing and have worked with Sun to resolve a Failover Group issue with the serial port.

Do you have a method to map a USB using uttsc?

coydog,
Sorry this has been so long. I actually left Sun and am working for United Airlines. Our USB devices are input devices, not output. We use Serial for all output devices. If your input devices are HID compliant, they will be passed right through to the VM. Nothing needs to be passed. Sorry for the late reply
